The following is a step by step
description showing how a simple rectangular shaped sign using the OnTrax System
is installed to a painted drywall wall surface. Because the OnTrax
System can be installed using many combinations, at many angles, using dissimilar
sizes, etc., your installation may vary. (Note: Click on
all photos to view enlarged photo. Click "Back" to return to
this page.)
Step One:
Placement Of Template Onto Wall. Once you have
determined where sign will be located on the wall, the installation template is placed on the
wall in the correct location.
Step Two: Mark
The Holes For The Track Installation. Lightly mark location where
holes are located for track installation. Be very careful not to damage wall
surface.
Step
Three: Remove Installation Template: Once
holes are marked, installation template is removed from wall surface.
Step Four: Fastening Bottom Caps To
the Track. The bottom caps are fixed into position with tamper
resistant screws to the track prior to fastening the track to the wall.
This task may be performed in the shop, and not on site.
Step
Five:
Secure Right Track With Bottom Cap Already Attached, To The Wall Surface. Here we are using
small head drywall screws to fasten the track to the painted drywall surface.
Depending on construction of the wall & the weight of the finished sign, different
hardware, anchors, and/or reinforcement of wall may be necessary.
Step
Six:
Finish Fastening Right Track With Bottom Cap Already Attached To The Wall.
Quantity of fasteners used will depend on individual application. Keep in
mind the finished sign size and weight, along with your wall construction.
Step
Seven:
Left Track With Bottom Cap Already Attached Fastened To Wall. Simply
fasten hardware where holes were located locations were marked (see Step Two above).
Step
Eight: Sliding
On Cover Bar (Left). Left
bar slides over track concealing fasteners. Bar will stop at bottom
cap.
Step
Nine: Sliding On Cover Bar (Right). Right
bar slides over track concealing fasteners. Bar will stop at bottom
cap.
Step
Ten: Sliding Sign Insert Into Place.
Insert will now slide into the channel located in cover bar. The caps
fastened to the bottom of the track stop the sign insert, holding the sign
insert in place.

Step Eleven: Finish Caps Secured
In Place. The
top caps are fixed into position with tamper resistant screws, thus completing
installation of the sign.
